BEVERLY FARMS IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY
The Beverly Farms Improvement Society was incorporated approximately 50 years ago by local residents whose aim was to improve the Beverly Farms and Prides Crossing communities by enhancing and preserving their natural beauties. Today, the BFIS continues the original mission and has expanded its scope within the community. The BFIS engaged the services of a professional urban planning firm and financed a master plan for the Beverly Farms town center along with a parking plan. The BFIS continues to successfully execute phases of the master plan including designing and installing the engraved brick and pergola pathway connecting West Street to the Beverly Farms Library. BFIS also purchased, installed and maintains the War Memorial Fountain honoring all servicemen and women at the center of town. In addition BFIS designed and installed all of the wrought iron containers that line West Street which are planted and paid for seasonally by BFIS. Matching iron benches were also purchased and installed by BFIS along with planting and maintaining traffic islands in Beverly Farms and Prides Crossing. BFIS writes and publishes for free the coveted FARMS FLYER with fun and local news for all residents. This new handicap accessible path allows for easy access and will substantially beautify the area with the installation of over 1,100 trees and plantings. Partnering with the Friends of Dix Park and the City of Beverly Public Works division, additional upgrades planned include a new tennis court, resurfacing the basketball court, installation of benches, bike racks and picnic tables. In addition, the BFIS is grateful to the Townsend family who has donated a parcel of land abutting Dix Park allowing for another beautified and handicap accessible entry at Haskell Street including expanded parking. The project is contingent upon successful fundraising efforts and the BFIS is pleased to donate $30,000 to kick the project off. We would be grateful for your support. Any and all donations are appreciated with 100% of all proceeds going toward Beverly Farms and Prides Crossing improvement projects. The BFIS is a 501c (3) charitable organization and its success relies largely on community donations which are also 100% tax deductible.
